Marcello Bellini was born in Florence and currently teaches Italian and Italian culture at CSU Florence. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florence with a degree in International and comparative Law. His major thesis was titled “Common Law and Statute Law” done under the supervision of Prof. Funaioli. Marcello’s Minor thesis  I : “ Machiavelli e Guicciardini e la Storiografia del “Rinascimento” ; Minor thesis II: “Jus Romanum Jus Familiare: Il Diritto Matrimoniale nello Jus Romanum secondo il Digestum Justiniani.” .

He was a Research Assistant in Comparative Law at the University of Florence from 1971-1978. Prof. Bellini has been teaching for CSU Florence Since 1970. He currently also teaches at Lorenzo de’ Medici, and is adjunct professor at Kent State University in Florence, Institute of Fine and Liberal Arts Palazzo Rucellai and Vanderbildt University. Marcello  has also taught at Syracuse University in Florence and at Centro Linguistico Dante Alighieri. Other than the above teaching positions Marcello keeps busy as a visiting lecturer for the Stanford University Alumni Association,  The British Institute of Florence and is a cultural consultant for the Province of Florence and Eli Lilly Italia Spa. A certified tour guide with over twenty years experience Marcello also teaches a course for tourist guides for the province of Florence.

FRI. ; 1998,  "La Cappella dei Magi di Palazzo Medici-Riccardi" in Cappelle del Rinascimento a Firenze, Ed. Becocci. Marcello has also collaborated  in several video productions including: 2004, Partecipated in a BBC TV production on the Renaissance. ; 1992, La Basilica di Santa Croce: Ed. La Mandragora ; 1991, Il Museo dell´Opera del Duomo, Ed. La Mandragora. Other than Italian Marcello also speaks English and Spanish fluently.
